Controlling our impacts
Total Petrochemicals strives to reduce impacts as several levels. At the industrial level, we are taking measures to cut atmospheric emissions of both greenhouse gases and volatile organic compounds (VOC). At the same time, it is raising the energy efficiency of its plants; the target here is to post a 2% improvement every year for 10 years.
At the same time, the company is seeking to manage the environmental impacts of the products it manufactures. The approach covers the whole product life cycle from design and choice of raw materials to packaging, transport and product use. It invests also in plastic waste management with the emphasis on ways to recycle plastics and incineration combined with energy recovery.
