The fruit of long research, the polymers developed by Total Petrochemicals are used to manufacture - via constantly improved production processes - a wide range of products that serve and beautify our daily lives. In close partnership with companies in the automotive, construction, packaging, hygiene and cosmetics segments, as well as firms producing consumer goods, Total Petrochemicals works alongside its customers to ensure that their products are constantly improved.

THREE POLYMERS

Polyethylene

Polyethylene is a plastic produced by the polymerisation of ethylene.
It is used in making cars, for packaging both industrial and consumer products, and to manufacture cables and pipes such as water and gas distribution pipes. In automobiles, polyethylene is used, for example, to make fuel tanks.

arrow Polypropylene

Polypropylene is a plastic produced from the polymerisation of propylene. Lightweight, rigid, easy to process, leak-proof, resistant to impact, heat and chemicals, polypropylene is used extensively in food packaging - in the form of bags, trays, pots, bottles and closures - and in the manufacture of crates. It is also used to produce woven textiles (sports clothing) and non-woven articles (hygiene products), carpets, rugs and artificial grass. As the basic material for car bumpers and dashboards, polypropylene helps improve vehicle performance.

arrow Polystyrene

Polystyrene is a plastic produced by the polymerisation of styrene.
Total Petrochemicals manufactures and markets "crystal"-type (i.e. highly transparent) polystyrene and "impact" grades toughened by the addition of rubber. Polystyrene is used in food packaging, electronics, domestic appliances, audio-video equipment and thermal insulation in buildings.

arrow Lumicene ®

Built on proprietary technology, Total Petrochemicals Lumicene® products are a new generation of metallocene polyolefins with superior cleanliness, improved gloss and transparency, better gas barrier and chemical resistance, improved processing and mechanical properties. The Lumicene range includes polyethylene resins for film, rotational moulding, blow moulding, artificial grass and caps & closures, as well as polypropylene grades for fibers, film, injection moulding and medical applications.
