Total Petrochemicals develops the raw materials and processes used by its customers to manufacture the countless products and articles that are essential to our everyday comfort.

Three major product groups

Used in disposable or long-lasting, complex or simple applications, Total Petrochemicals’ products are the result of comprehensive research seeking to improve their performance and processability, and fulfil users’ expectations.

Polyethylene

Produced from the polymerisation of ethylene, polyethylene is used in the car industry, the packaging of both industrial and consumer products, and the manufacture of water and gas distribution pipes. Another application is the manufacture of fuel tanks.

arrow Polypropylene

Polypropylene is produced from the polymerisation of propylene. Lightweight, rigid, easy to process, leakproof, resistant to impact, heat and chemicals, it is used extensively in food packaging, in the shape of bags, trays, pots, bottles, closures, and in the manufacture of crates. It is also used to produce woven textiles (sports clothing) and nonwoven articles (hygiene sector), carpets, rugs and artificial grass. The basic material for car bumpers and dashboard, it contributes to improved performance in the automotive sector.

arrow Polystyrene

Total Petrochemicals manufactures and markets «crystal» type, i.e. highly transparent, polystyrene, and «impact» grades toughened with the addition of rubber. Polystyrene is used in food packaging, electronics, domestic appliances, and thermal insulation in buildings.
